Bovine tuberculosis (BTB) is a chronic zoonotic infection caused by Mycobacterium. The main clinical manifestations are weakness and progressive emaciation. It is characterized by tuberculous granuloma (tuberculous nodule) in the tissues and organs, followed by caseous necrosis or calcification in the nodule centre.
The test is based on the detection of a specific antigen in the bovine's blood sample and is used to diagnose TB infection in cattle. It is a simple, quick, and reliable test that can be done on-site at the farm and can be used to detect TB before clinical signs of infection are present.
The clinical symptoms of ASF are similar to those of SWINE fever and can only be confirmed by laboratory monitoring.
